Privacy Policy

Frumgal collects about as little as a website can. This policy describes what actually happens, not what a template says might happen.

No third-party tracking, no ads

Frumgal runs no Google Analytics, no advertising network, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts of any kind. The site loads no JavaScript at all. Nothing on these pages is fetched from an outside company, including fonts and images, so no third party learns that you visited.

Visitor numbers are counted on our own server instead. That count needs a way to tell one person from another within a single day, so a one-way hash is made from your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the date, and only that hash is stored. Because the date is part of what's hashed, the value changes every day: it cannot be traced back to you, matched to an address, or used to recognise you tomorrow. These hashes are deleted after 60 days. We also count how many times each page was viewed and record the website that referred you (the domain only), both as plain totals with nothing attached to them.

Cookies

Browsing Frumgal sets no cookies. There is no consent banner here because there is nothing to consent to.

One cookie exists on the site, and it is only ever set for the site owner when logging in to the private admin area. It stores a random session identifier, nothing about you, and it is never set for ordinary visitors.

What is recorded

• Click counts. When someone follows a deal link, a counter on that listing increases by one, and a daily total for that listing goes up by one. They are plain numbers. No identifier and no address is stored alongside them.
• Daily visitor and page counts. As described above: per-day totals, plus a daily-rotating one-way hash used only to avoid counting the same person twice in one day, deleted after 60 days.
• Failed admin logins. If someone enters a wrong password on the private admin page, the IP address of that attempt is stored briefly so repeated guessing can be rate limited. These records are deleted automatically after fifteen minutes and concern attempted logins only.
• Contact form messages. If you write in through the contact form, what you type is stored so it can be read and answered — your message, and the name and email address you chose to include. Both of those fields are optional; leave them blank and the message arrives anonymously, though then there is no way to reply. Alongside each message a salted, one-way hash of your IP address is stored, purely to limit how many messages one sender can submit in an hour. The address itself is never written down and the hash cannot be turned back into one. Messages are deleted once they have been dealt with, and you can ask for yours to be removed at any time.

That is the complete list. Frumgal has no accounts, no newsletter, no comment section, and no shopping cart, so there is nothing else to collect.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the network requests needed to deliver pages to you and may keep short-lived operational logs for security and reliability. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Frumgal does not receive, store, or have access to visitor-level logs.

When you leave the site

Deal links send you to outside retailers. Once you land on their site you are subject to their privacy practices, cookies, and tracking, which are typically far more extensive than anything here. Affiliate programs may use their own cookies or referral parameters to attribute a purchase. Frumgal never receives your name, address, payment details, or order contents from any retailer — only aggregate commission reports.

Children

Frumgal is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them — and given the above, essentially none is collected from anyone.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information a site holds about you. Frumgal holds no personal information about visitors, so in practice there is nothing to retrieve or erase. You are welcome to write and confirm that.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. Material changes will be described on this page rather than quietly edited in.
